Emo/Punk Hair for guys?

Well I want to get my hair cut somewhat like Bob Bryar's from My Chemical Romance, but I don't necessarily want it quite as much across the eye. I've got about the same hair color as him. Any pictures or sites that are similar? Also is there any way to do that without growing your hair out terribly long and then cutting it? Thanks.

Grow your hair a little, and then cut it into the shape and then grow it and cut it until you have the shape you want if you don't want to have terribly long hair. Do you have the right face for Bob!hair though? Some people can't pull it off.

Should I dye my hair?

Well, my hair is kind of light hazelnut brown and people say that they like the color of my hair and I like it too but lately I wanted to dye my hair so I was thinking that I want it black or light blonde with a little darker than blonde but not completely brown highlights. So its either black or blonde with highlights? Which one do you guys think will look good on me? And what kind of hairstyle should I get with each color? Oh and also im a freshman and will it look stupid because everyone knows what my haircolor is and do you think i will feel weird around people? I don't know if guys my age normally dye ther hair :/

I think since your hair is brown(brunette) if you where to dye it straight blonde and then add black highlights it could damage your hair try a chestnut blonde or if you dare a hazel blonde without black highlights because the highlights will not look right on you. But I think your hair looks fine to me normal. You could just get highlights but that's your decision

also many kids at my school including me dye there hair.

I'd get a more angled hair cut and put some Carmel high lights in it. I think that would look best on you. You seem to be pretty fair.. so if you DO decide to go black make sure the black has a undertone of red (most are blue and will make you appear even lighter and washed out) Also, tons of boys and girls your age dye their hair, don't worry about what others think.. it's all about you. :) good luck!

DONT DYE IT BLACK!!!!!!!! Black hair is a big turnoff for girls well most of us neway i think ur hair is really cute by ur photo so i wouldnt do nething to it, but if u really want to, do a medium blond highlights with a few different kinds of blond. keep ur hair the way it is dont cut it really short.

im 14 too, i would recommend NOT getting layers that look like they are not layered, the ones that you can hardly see. i have really thick dirty blonde hair w/ natural highlights and if you have thick hair and you get layers you can hardly see, your hair will look the same after you wash it.i would recommend getting choppy layers. if you want someone to get your hair modeled after look at this picture.jennifer aniston has a good haircut , it frames her face and then continues to get cut in layers on the way down.

i suggest to grow it out but in the mean time add a feature streak in your hair for thats edgy kind of look ..i have ur length hair and i have 2 thick pieces of red near the front...its looks awsome...so mayb sumthin like that ..but other than that grow it out...good luk :)

Let it grow more . then use oil bath - just an ordinary olive oil little warmed and cover it with a warm towel for ten minutes - nothing fancy - keep the same hairdo but you have to trim the sides when it grows and make your hair rest for some time from dryers and dyes . take care - you look good .

Yea I'm sure it looks better, blonde make your hair look sooo fried. Honestly though, you should give your hair a break for a while from dying, it looks really unhealthy.

If you wear eye make-up like that with black hair. You'll end up looking like a goth. No offence meant, but you really will. If that's the look you're going for, then fine. If not, I'd sort it out. If I were you, I'd put on a deep conditioning mask because there's only so much abuse hair can take.

My stylist taught me a way of teasing. You tease the front part, and then tease the part behind it. It kind of makes it look good but remember this girl had a professional stylist do it, so i doubt anything will come close.

you need something called a travulent chester

now this is going to give you the correct amound of contrast to keeping all hair even and not a SINGLE hair sticking out so what you do is

take your har blow dry it first then get someone to put it in the same position and tie it or use a clip( hide the clip underneath the bun) AND last put on a lot of hairspray on top of the travulent chester that should keep your hair looking nice and neat all night or day OR day and NIGHT long

If you don't already have bangs, you can't create that. If you do...you will dry your hair with a round brush from where your bangs start back, lifting as you dry to get as much volume as you can and keeping it smooth. You might need to then add big hot rollers to get the extra height keep it smooth. When you go to tie it back, push your hair forward a bit to get it even more large (for lack of a better word). You can flat iron any kinks out. Ha Yes, this will take time. She has personal stylists.

You're going to need hairspray, a headband, and a couple bobby pins / hair clips .

part your hair in five sections .

bangs

hair on top

two parts on the side

and the rest of the hair under neath.

get the bottom *underneath and kinda twist it but not too hard because that'll make it look messy. put a few bobby pins in there so it will stay .

next take the two sections of hair that are on each side of your head and do one at a time .

pull the hair back on top of the twisted hair on the back of your head and pin it with some more bobby pins ; make it look loose or tight/ w/e you want . same with the right side.

when you're done all of this squirt some hair spray about four sprays total .

next for the top . you're gonna want a little frou so i hope you have not just like a line of hair you should have a minature pony tail . so you grab that, twist it a little place it on your head so it appears that you have a little poof , bobby pin it and then hair spray .

you should have your bangs left so brush them out and sweep them across your face .

last but not least - put your headband in !!

Actually there doesn't seem to be a lot of diff between penelope cruz's colour and your natural hair colour. So if you think your current colour's fine, then yea it'll look fine too. You can also ask the stylist for suggestions if you want a professional opinion.

i'm a hairstylist, and i can't really tell because both of the pictures you posted of yourself are bad pictures. i can't see your skin color or your eyes, and they're really small.

You have very similar colouring to me and I think the Cruz's hair colour you have shown would be a bit too severe for your skin colour and make you look like a goth. Cruz has got olive skin and that looks great with black hair.

I would be a little concerned with the Plantinum blonde highlights turning orangish in color. This is because naturally dark hair contains far more red pigmentation !! Also, in order to acheive this look, you will literally need to lighten the whole head of hair, then add dark streaks ( or chunks ) back into the hair. This can cause severe hair damage ( damage to the hair shaft ). Frizzy hair and split ends never look on anyone ! Thick types of dark hair can never achieve natural blonde highlights without the provision of an all-over lightening base color. Even in this case, dark porous hair types will endure severe cuticle damage during the coloring process

If you really want to go for this look, please see a professional ! And try and make sure that they have a great reputation because Judge Judy is filled with cases of hair mishaps !

I do think that you could try to go for a honey or golden highlight. And, because your natural hair color is dark, it will look lighter but suit your skin coloring and hair color better !

yes her hair is very cute...it is going to take awhile to grow your hair out that long but as it gets longer you can def. make it fuller with product like big sexy hair and also using rollers or a curling iron and then finger combing through the curls to have them come out like hers.

I really love your hair! I think its cute straight. I have the same problem though. I have naturally wavy hair, but I flat iron it straight. When I wear it wavy, some people say they like it better....so try it wavy like that picture and see how it looks and what others think. I guess we are lucky, because we can wear our hair straight or wavy. Don't get heavier bangs though....that might way it down and look too big.

Redken has this REALLY awesome spray called Vinyl Glam! It has super fine particles so it doesn't spray on heavy. You can use it while hair is damp or dry! Apply to dry hair and hit each section with the blowdryer and round brush and it will tame the frizz and keep out humidity!!!

You seem to be one of those annoying girls who can pull off anything.

If your brave enough I would try going for a really piecy layered cut. (try to keep it as long as you can, the extensions might have damaged your hair) and I think you would look amazing with a dark warm brown.

That is a total change, but as I said before you could probably pull of anything. (er, I wouldn't do a pink afro- somethings don't work on anybody)

Hey u look great already! But if u really wanna change your hair... Blonde looks awesome on you. I like the thing that there's brown under, it really makes your hair trendy. If u still want to stick to the blonde, u can do highlights(I suggest black if u want a contrast, light brown for a nice look and red for an unusual rock star look, or the combination). U can also make your hair look like stairs(I don't really know what's it exactly called in English). Or... make waves maybe. If u want to do that here is the recipe(my friend told me it's good, I still haven't tried it):

mix 1/2 half litars water

2 big spoons sea salt

some hair gel

Wash your hair then spray this on damp hair. For a better effect, while your hair is wet(almost dry), curl your hair around your finger, then pin it. Leave it that way for about 45 minutes, fan it, then take of the hair pins. That really works, I do it often. Creates large, beautiful curls, and after some time when the curls "come down" it looks wavy. Looks cool.

It's more how you style it than the actual product you use. Any light hold gel will do. Rub it through your hair when it's wet. Then blowdry with a medium sized round brush, almost curling it away from your face.

hair wax would be really cute for piecing up your layers...

It's a pretty versatile cut so you've got a lot of options... Most of them include using your layers for wave by putting moose in your wet hair and crunching and twisting it as it dries or using a defuser on your blow dryer.

You could also use a curling iron to curl tight curls in it and then comb them out and relax them a little with a mist

Tease it underneath for some volume (don't forget to use loads of hairspray)

Wow this is a toughie considering that you look good already with your natural part.

Hmmm, I would definately suggest getting the straight,(bowl cut) bangs in the front, about eyebrow lenght. The straightness of the bangs will contrast very nicely with your wavy hair and long face.

You have two cowlicks, one on each side. If you get bangs, your stylist will have to allow for them to pop up a lot, so make sure you get your bangs cut starting at the top of your cheek.

PS My hair is exactly your texture but shoulder length and I have a cowlick on one side. I just gave myself side bangs but only on the side that its parted to. I started the side swept bang at the bridge of my nose and have to straighten them or clip them up which looks cute, but I can never leave them or they bounce up sooooo much and they curl under ewww. Wich hair for me?

I have long hair [[ 15 inches ]]

Its Dark Golden Brown, I'm getting like.. kinda dirty blonde Highlights %26amp;%26amp; I have a round face! I dont want something I have to do alot to! My hair is naturally curly and wavy, But Sometimes I straighten it. So can you try to show me some that I ethire straighten or just let my hair go naturally curly? I was thinking of buying a chi flat iron also because my hair always looks super fried and dry after blow drying and straightening it with the remington wet-straight iron. This is really confusing to me since I only straighten my hair once a month.if that because of how bad it looks when i do straighten it. I really would like to know how to make my hair look like the two pictures (loosely curled and shiny) so any ideas would be welcome! Thank You!

A Chi straighener would work well although all straighteners do fry your hair. They are really hard to curl your own hair with although if you could get someone to help you that would be better.

I would suggest a haircut with long layers and side bangs and then using a 1 1/4 inch barrel curling iron after straigtening your hair.

Dove and Frizz Ease products both work well making your hair shiny and soft, so you might want to give them a try. Good luck and Happy New Year!

If I had to do this style, a Chi iron is what I'd use. But, this is not going to be easy for someone who is not a hairdresser. Curling with a Chi is not easy for a new user, and not easy to do on yourself. Love that style! The 2 looser pics are basically the same in my book.

well she has long bangs so try that. just curl it with a curling iron, layer by layer starting with the bottom layer. when you curl it tho, make sure you twist the hair on the iron closely. only put a little bit of hairspray on it because you want the curls to be lose, since thats wat she has. so it will just fall out.

Ihope you purchas a pretty good product it is hard to get blue to show up but they have some new stuff on the market that is pretty good. I love blue and I think your idea is great.

when you toss a red of any shade in your hair you are very unlikely to get rid of that highlight unless you bleach your hair.

I hate red tones when I am really after blond or a dishwater brown. Red is the easiest color to achieve.

I dont know. but when i wake up in the morning it's like that! very nasty, i think there is much much volume. I don't know. I use condictioners and i wash my hair. I have thick hair. I layer it and thin it out once a month, or it gets frizzy and a mess in the morning. Try letting your hair naturally dry, blow drying it can damage it if you continue to dry it like that.

I personally dry my hair with a towel for a minute..and it becomes more damp then soaken wet. then just let it air dry, espeically if you are getting one at night before you go to bed, and then brush it out, so it will lay properly.

i suggest getting your hair cut if you havent in 8 months..

layer it.. and thin it out.

i would get a mid shoulder length style, i used to have short hair, and over the fall i let it grow to my shoulders, mid shoulder is perfect, because you can wear it curly, or straight, and its not as much work.

and try some different products in your hair, that may also work,.

if your forehead is high then the part will need to be at least an 2 inches back fron your hairline going fron left to right. avoid parting front to back. then you man need to use some extensions to thicken your hair out. i recommend a full head extension. its not as complicated as it sounds and its half the price if you get it dont in a black shop versus a salon. it usually runs about 200 in salons, 80 in african american salons, and i do it for 50 out of my home. it all depends on comfort of your surroundings, anywho im getting off subjeck. try layering with a razor. to thicken your hair try using doctor miracles thickening cream, it works for all races. but i think that extensions is the easiest route

Well were do i start, i have very curly hair and I am in desperate need of a new hair look.

I am 15 years old and I honestly feel embarrassed about the way my hair is currently, please make some suggestions, whatever they may be, if you are ever referring to hairstyles please post a picture of it.

I have a job so money is not an issue to an extent, so i could afford a 300$ hair straightening or more expensive hair products/cuts.

You could buy a hair straightener, and straighten it every day. Then you could buy smoothing milk or hair gel and apply it to your hair, so it stays straight. Then you could style it however you want. =]

Ya know personally I think you're a good-looking guy and I like your hair the way it is. It helps set you apart from everyone else. I myself have curly hair and have always liked the fact that I don't look like everyone else. But, if your hair bothers you that much I found a hairstyle that I think would also look good on you. Dude...your hair is awesome.

You could get chemical straightening which makes your hair straight even after you shower for about 9 months.

It costs around $150 - $200 but you may get tired of it.

You could always invest in a straightener, but that requires work in the morning so if you're lazy I wouldn't recommend it.

But seriously, borrow a straightener and try it, if you like - knock yourself out (on hair products ha)

Ideas for my hair cut?

I'm in desperate need of a hair cut. Does anyone have any pictures of celebrities or models etc. with haircuts that you think would look good on me? I'm not afraid of going short, and I'm also okay with playing around with color. My hair is naturally wavey.

i tried this and it worked for me! after you take a shower devide your hair into 3or 4 equal parts and then braid them REALLY loosley. in the morning when your hair's dry take them out and then comb your fingers through! good luck! hope that helped=)

My hair is shoulder length, dark brown, layered and naturally wavy. I've got a full fringe too.

Normally I'd straighten it, but my straighteners died and annoyingly I lost the box (and the warranty).

But my hair's quite thick so it just ends up going poofy...

If i try more layers/thinning then I just seem to get more volume on the top which makes the poof even worse.

your hair will need to be in reallly good condition - try treatments and leave in conditioners. You will need to stay away from hairdryers too.it depends on how curly /wavy/kinky your hair is weather it will look like the pic , but what i do if i want a more wavy soft everyday look (instead of looking like a witch) is wash my hair early (so it has plenty of time to dry) put a straightening lotion in- not a spray for straighteners ,but one thats supposed to make blow drying easier VO5 has a great one comb through put a parting in ,side fringe and let dry naturally -and no touching or pushing off the face cos then you can get a really heavy straight bit or a frizzy bit - try it it really works

You could try blow drying your hair and using a hairbrush so you can style it while you dry it. So it wont be poofy =]

I would call it a Pixie-cut. You are going to have to work on it every morning (straighten then curl the ends, apply no-frizz serum, etc..) or it will look like a poof-ball/boys cut. Cute cut though!

Never go from one extreme to another or you will be sorry. If you really want to grow your hair long keep it trimmed every six to eight weeks and that way you can keep the split ends off but the hair will still grow. To give up now would be ashame because it sounds like the hard inbetween stage is already past. I have always found a trim can make a world of difference. So think about this before cutting it all off then being sorry later.
