Are you ever to old to have long hair? When you picture an old person, do you see long or short hair

In woman of course.

Yeah I usually picture old ladies with shorter hair, permed, and gray. But my mom, 68, has long (past her butt) strait gray hair. But I suspose the majority of older ladies like it shorter?

I will probably get mine cut short when I reach about 50.......Just because I will be tired of messing with it. But I do picture short hair when I think about an older person.

I don't think so. Look at Cher. She has long hair and I think she looks beautiful (still). My hair is longer (almost to my shoulders). I think it should be up to the person....

That would depend on the woman's appearance. Most older women would look very young, if they had short hair, and easy to manage without a lot of work. Again you see women who have long hair, very well trimmed and styled or coloured and they get away with no negative remarks. Then you see women who perferred long hair and rolled into a neat bun and look like a professional executive secretary...

I am creative and stylish when it comes to appearance, and what goes well in terms of colour in hair/ clothing/ make-up...Always go in style and look healthy and be proud. I did see someone say they were proud of their aging signs no matter what, kept in good health and active...Hmmm Interesting!

It may seem a little sad, but in women over 55 or so, it is almost unheard of to have long hair! My mother is 37 and she has cut her hair short, and we have all agreed that she looks much better with her hair shorter. As women age their hair becomes more coarse, and of course there's the colour issue with greys becoming more and more apparent as you age. So I'd have to say that it's better for older women to have shorter hair, as aesthetically it's much better, and way more manageable!

I think it is a must that older people have short hair. Old ladies that walk around with long, grey, straggly hair look as though they are in desperate need of a makeover and are obviously in DENILE!

Well I am a guy and I will turn 60 on March 13 and my hair comes to my shoulders. I usually wear a pony tail. My older brother by a year and six days has hair that comes down almost to his butt. But me, I prefer women who have long hair, at least down below the shoulders. Makes them look a lot better than those with shorter hair. And I have seen women with short hair but for some reason unknownst to me they don't really look that great when they are older. Younger women yes, older women no. Just my opinion though.

To each their own.

I will resist to my death, the short, poodle-do of the typical older woman!! I hate it. Won't do it.

I think long hair worn up in a bun is WAY more attractive than the short over-permed hair!

Or a nice, bob-blunt cut is still nice on older ladies.
